ELO Placement

Placement sets a fair starting ELO before you play staked games. It helps match you with opponents of similar strength from your first ranked match.

You play three timed games as White against Stockfish. Placement is free with no money at stake. Game one starts at a base engine rating; games two and three adapt to how you perform.

Your rating is the average of all three placement results. That number becomes your ELO on the platform and updates after each settled staked game.

Once all three games finish, deposits and staked matchmaking unlock. You can view your ELO on Play and Leaderboard.
