Terms of Service
Last updated · August 8, 2026
Acceptance & binding agreement
These Terms form a binding contract between you and PVPChess. By creating an account, signing in, browsing, or using any part of the platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally allowed to participate in skill-based games for stakes in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for confirming that use of PVPChess is permitted where you live.
Accounts & identity
You sign up with email or Google through our authentication provider. You choose a username, accept these Terms once at registration, and may link one Solana wallet to your account.
You are responsible for activity on your account, keeping login credentials secure, and maintaining accurate profile information. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or our fair-play rules.
Placement & ranked play
Before staked matchmaking, you complete three free placement games as White against Stockfish. Your starting ELO is derived from those results. Placement games carry no monetary stake.
Ranked staked games match you with players near your ELO through auto queue or challenge links. You may only participate in one active game or post-game review period at a time.
Stakes, fees & payouts
Staked games use fixed USD tiers ($5, $10, $15, $20, $25, $50, $75, and $100). Stakes are reserved from your USD credit balance when the game starts.
Each game charges a 5% platform fee on the total pot. Winners receive 95% of the pot as USD credits. Draws return 95% of the pot split equally between both players after the fee.
Payouts are released after a post-game review period and fair-play checks complete. We may withhold or reverse payouts when cheating or abuse is confirmed.
USD credits are funded by card (Whop) and cash out to bank via Whop. Solana deposits and withdrawals are a separate rail and do not mix with card-funded credits.
Fair play & enforcement
All staked games are analyzed for suspicious play. Confirmed violations may result in forfeiture, strike penalties, temporary matchmaking bans, and reporting to support.
You may appeal certain penalties through support. Repeated or serious abuse can lead to permanent account restrictions.
Disconnections & game results
Games follow standard chess rules with server-authoritative clocks. Checkmate, resignation, draw agreement, stalemate, and timeout determine results. If a player disconnects or abandons a game, normal forfeit and timeout rules apply.
Limitation of liability
PVPChess is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free software, or specific financial outcomes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the prior twelve months.
Blockchain transactions, Whop card and bank payouts, and third-party payment providers are outside our full control. You accept the risks of network congestion, price volatility, payment-processor delays, and user error when depositing or withdrawing funds.
Changes & contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
